The "South Wales Premier Cricket League" brings together the top clubs from the "Glamorgan & Monmouthshire Cricket League" and the "South Wales Cricket Association".
In September 2009, the top five clubs from the Glamorgan & Monmouthshire Cricket League and the South Wales Cricket Association were invited to become the inaugural members of the South Wales Premier Cricket League. The Glamorgan & Monmouthshire Cricket League and the South Wales Cricket Association became feeder leagues to the South Wales Premier Cricket League.
At the end of each season, two clubs will be relegated from the South Wales Premier Cricket Lague, returning to their relevant feeder league. These clubs will be replaced by the top club in each feeder league, provided the club meets the necessary entry criteria in force at the time. A club not being eligible for membership of the South Wales Premier Cricket League will "save" a Premier League club from relegation.
The inaugural AGM of the South Wales Premier Cricket League was held at the SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff on Monday 7th December 2009.
